Biography
Katherine di Turi (Caracas, 1971) received an MFA in Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, and a BA in Fine Art at the Instituto Armando Reverón in Caracas. Her work uses pre-existent images from a wide range of sources as a starting point: magazine pages, photographic albums, postcards and found objects. The alteration and recompilation of these images is then displaced to the realm of photography in their final presentation.
Recent exhibitions include Kowasa Gallery (2009) and the 10th Photographic Forum Can Basté (2008). Her work has also been shown in various group exhibitions in Madrid, London and Caracas.
