Jutta Immenkötter
La fuente mágica
From 19/06/09 to 28/06/09
“Jutta Immenkštter’s art focuses on the forms of the visible world. She captures them in her drawings and three-dimensional objects, abstracting them to create new aesthetic compositions. Her drawings are based on her precise observation of urban, architectural, organic, floral and also social forms and structures, in which visual experience is condensed into a formal entity with its own raison d’etre.”1
For this exhibition, Jutta Immenkštter presents an installation piece specifically created for the space in Square Studio, together with a selection of recent drawings on paper. The duality between the drawings – the source of forms – and the sculpture which develops these forms in three dimensions is a constant characteristic in the artist«s work. On this occasion the three-dimensional piece seeks a relationship between the interior facade of Square Studio - with its balcony and window curiosly connecting to the private interior space - and the exterior public space, embodied by Montjuic mountain. The selected drawings, executed in different techniques, similarly possess a three-dimensional will, liberating the space enclosed by the white cube of Square Studio.
